SNIP AND TUCK: Umayah Jamhuri, 29, is one of several Indonesians who join a group of Sri Lankans for classes every other week. At the old compound of CHIJ St. Joseph's, the women fill their Sundays with hairdressing, cooking, English, dressmaking and dancing lessons. Umayah paid $60 for six-month beginners' course.
